GFAA 27th Annual Spring Juried Exhibition

Gaithersburg

Founded in 1970, the Gaithersburg Fine Arts Association has grown to more than 80 members, who regularly exhibit their work, actively teach or contribute to Montgomery County arts events. The paintings on display represent a variety of media and will be available for sale. Juried by Jordon Bruns, who received a B.F.A. in Painting and Illustration at Maryland Institute College of Art and M.F.A. in Painting at Indiana University. Perfect for beginner or more experienced painters, Carol Vogel, an award winning artist will present skills and techniques necessary to paint or take your painting to a higher level. Color, composition, value, use of brushes and color mixing, painting techniques and painting process will be presented. Supply list available at the Arts Barn. Vian Borchert, an internationally acclaimed artist and ar educator, and Corcoran graduate, will teach students how to use many drawing mediums. Explore charcoal, pencils, pend and ink, and colored pencil to create dynamic drawings. Demos of all types of line-contour, gesture, variable and hatched lines will be presented. Art themes such as still life, landscape, portraits and images from your own inspiration will be covered. Supply list available at the Arts Barn.
