What stories are waiting to leap from your imagination onto a comic book page? What characters will make your story come to life? In this class, students will explore the fine art of cartooning. Each student will create single panel comics, a series of comic strips, and/or a comic book (either a healthy beginning or a completed book!).

Pests have a major impact on our health and well-being. During National Pest Management Month join the National Museum of Health and Medicine and Harold Harlan, Ph.D., from the Armed Forces Pest Management Board, to learn about mosquitoes, ticks, filth flies, rodents and bed bugs. Live and preserved specimens will be on view as part of the program.

Diners can entertain – and be entertained – during the Spice Xing restaurant’s popular “Curry-Oke” event. Every Friday night beginning at 9:30 p.m., diners sing along to their favorite tunes from a selection of Hollywood and Bollywood beats. The $10 entrance fee to “Curry-Oke” can be applied to the cost of dinner and drinks that night.
