The Youth Chamber Music Festival is a Monday evening summer program for musicians ages 12 to 19 designed to develop individual and small group musicianship. These small groups give participants an opportunity to make critical decisions about the music being performed. The YCMF program is for the intermediate to advanced musician. The festival meets on Monday evenings 6-7 PM, June 23 through August 4 at Gaithersburg Presbyterian Church. There will be a concert and ice cream social on August 4. The Montgomery Philharmonic is excited to offer free Monday evening Summer Reading Sessions as part of its season. The sessions are open to musicians of all ages who are accomplished enough to play in a symphony orchestra and who have reasonable sight-reading skills. Each reading session will primarily be a read through with some rehearsal. Doubling is expected and acceptable. We want lots of people at each session, so please pass this on to all of your friends.
