Exhibit, Artist Presentation and Film Screening of "The Second Buddha" by Benoy K. Behl. This exhibition of photographs of Buddhist heritage in 17 countries is presented in cooperation with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations and the Embassy of India. It will remain on display in the Gandhi Center through May 31, 2012.

The 2012 Gaithersburg Book Festival will be held Saturday, May 19th from 10:00 am - 6:00pm on the Grounds of City Hall. It is an annual celebration of great books and great writing that will feature more than 80 top authors including Pulitzer Prize winners, national best-sellers and award-winners in fiction, non-fiction, mystery, poetry, childrens and young adult literature. Other activities include a spotlight on local authors, interactive writing workshops, a Childrens Village, coffee house entertainment and more. Admission is FREE. www.gaithersburgbookfestival.org

ClancyWorks Dance Company is looking for male and female dancers for upcoming performances for our 2012-2013 Performance Season. In addition to formal concerts (around 10 each season, both regionally and nationally), ClancyWorks Dance Company conducts Arts in Education Residencies and School Assemblies (around 30 each season) throughout the Greater Washington, DC area. Dancers are paid competitive wages for rehearsals and performances, and have the opportunity to earn more funds through teaching in our Arts-In-Education Programs for K-12 students. BlackRock DanceFest is a weekend-long celebration of the world of dance featuring performances by six area professional companies as well as post-show workshops. On May 19 at 3:00, DanceFest presents Life, Rhythm, Move Project, performing Hip Hop, and Dance Place Step Team, who will be stepping.

Westmoreland Music and Arts presents the annual Choral Concert by the Chancel Choir of Westmoreland Congregational United Church of Christ, Bethesda. The choir will present "Requiem, Op. 48" by Gabriel Faure, conducted by Dr. Alejandro Hernandez-Valdez, Westmoreland music director, with guest choristers and orchestra and soloists Laura Choi Stuart, soprano, Lena Seikaly, alto, Doug Gaddis, tenor and George Singleton, bass. Also, songs by Faure and Ralph Vaughan Williams. Free, but donations gratefully accepted for Bethesda Cares, a Bethesda-based organization providing homeless people with day shelter, food, clothing, psychiatric care, job assessment and connections to social services. Reception after concert.

Leela (banjo, guitar) and Ellie (mandolin, guitar, fiddle) are singers, multi-instrumentalists, songwriters, and percussive dancers who grew up traveling across North America performing with their parents as The Grace Family. For the past 13 years, they have been making a name for themselves around the country as a duo, in addition to offering solo appearances, and touring with nationally-known bands.
