Civil War Living History at the Medical Museum

Experience an 1863-era field hospital and Civil War encampment on the grounds of the Museum! Interact with living historians from the 28th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, Co. B., and the 20th Maine Camp and Hospital Association as they describe Civil War-era medical practices. Infantry from both the 28th Mass. and 20th Maine will be on hand to show uniforms and equipment of the period and perform live firing demonstrations. Inside the Museum, exhibits and demonstrations will feature anatomical, historical and archival collections related to the care of the wounded during the Civil War.

The Youth Chamber Music Festival is a Monday evening summer program for musicians ages 12 to 19 designed to develop individual and small group musicianship. These small groups give participants an opportunity to make critical decisions about the music being performed. The YCMF program is for the intermediate to advanced musician. The festival meets on Monday evenings 6-7 PM, June 23 through August 4 at Gaithersburg Presbyterian Church. There will be a concert and ice cream social on August 4.
