"Form, Function and Symbol: The Meaning of Hats" looks at the reasons we wear hats, in the past and the present, using Montgomery County residents as examples. Different styles, shapes and colors of headwear can be used to create and maintain an identity, both personally and as part of a group. In this exhibit, hats of all varieties, as well as photos, tell the story of who we are and who we want to be.

The class will cover terminology, auditions, expression, personalizing acting choices, breaking down scripts and audition copy and much more.

A professional Teaching Artist and Director will guide participants using creative drama techniques through the basics of acting, improvisation and character development which culminates with a one-act play presentation for family and friends.
